A mid-19th century Chinese Mandarin fan, the monture of wood lacquered in black and gilded, the double paper leaf with three scenes on the recto, the central cartouche featuring a village with pond and houses, small figures in the foreground, the side vignettes each with gatherings of robed figures, their faces painted on slivers of ivory, the verso with a larger gathering, the Emperor in his Imperial yellow robe to the centre, guard approx. 28.5 cm, ivory exemption certificate no A1KVCH48 (Shipping category C)

Some rubbing to leaf folds and some folds with small splits. Both guards have rubbed off gilding to the lower sections
