18th and 19th century needlework samplers and embroideries: the first, a European stitch sampler showing various techniques, including bargello work and Berlin wool work designs, ten in all, in wool and silk, various colours, approx. 20.5 by 34 cm; a second example with different designs, bound in pink silk (both with small handwritten labels on the verso), approx. 24 by 34 cm; an earlier, partly completed canvas work fragment with central peacock on grass next to a rose bush, the bird and roses padded inside thus in relief, the scrolling border marked out in ink but not embroidered, diameter approx. 13 cm; a short band of wool work worked with different butterflies, approx. 46 x 4cm excluding the unworked canvas to the sides; a panel of silk embroidery, on cream silk, the traditional floral design of carnations and other flowers, partly worked in gold metal threads, approx. 21 by 27cm; a plushwork bird set against a woolwork design of grass and trees, worked on tight canvas, approx. 18 by 16cm; a fine band of floral needlework depicting auriculas and roses, worked on tight canvas, approx. 54 by 6 cm; and an oval seat or cushion panel worked in bold coloured silks, with roses, buds, carnations, pansies and cornflowers, approx. 40 by 34cm, hem turned (8) (Shipping category D)
