How and when do we collect your personal data?
The majority of the personal data that we process about you comes directly from you. This can be from face to face contact, over the telephone, on paper, by email or online; for instance -

Your image may be recorded by Morphets if you attend our premises. We may use CCTV at our salerooms and offices for the protection of our staff and visitors and to safeguard auction lots. We also record our auctions for security reasons and to monitor bidding. On occasion the auctions may be filmed and your image or that of your property could be captured and shown or reproduced via media or social media by various means. The right to reproduce such images in all forms remains with Morphets Of Harrogate Ltd.

Who gets to see your personal data?
It is essential for the efficient running of the business for all staff to have free and quick access to computers where data is stored in the office. These computers are password protected to the individual user.
We do not transfer your personal data to third parties to use for their own purposes. We do share data with third parties where it is necessary in order for us to provide a service, for example our web agency Easy Live (Services) Limited ICO No: ZA059612 and mailing list management (Mailchimp); we may transfer the data to our bank, removal contractors, insurers and consultant valuers for example. This is done on the basis that they keep your data confidential and secure and that it is not used for any unauthorised purpose.
In addition we have an obligation to provide data to third parties for the prevention and detection of crime and for anti-money laundering checks. Any request for such information will not be actioned until received in writing and the validity of the request has been authenticated.
How long will we keep your personal data?
Personal data will normally be held for seven years. We will keep your personal data for sufficient time to enable us to fulfil our legal and regulatory obligations (for example, to HMRC). We will keep your data regarding auction lots and transactions for as long as it is relevant to our legitimate business interests.

We will take all reasonable and appropriate steps to keep your personal data secure including, but not limited to, physical protection, password protection, anti-virus protection and staff training in GDPR.

We do not supply your data to third party websites. Morphets.co.uk contains links to other websites and it is recommended that you check their privacy policy before providing any personal data as Morphets cannot be held responsible for the privacy policies of those websites.
Contractual and Statutory Obligations
You have a contractual obligation to supply personal data if you wish us to undertake specific services for you, for example selling or buying at auction or instructing us to conduct a valuation.
Individuals may have a statutory obligation to provide information required by General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR).
Subject Access Requests (SARS) - Access to your data
You have rights of access to your personal data and a right to have any inaccuracies corrected. If you are resident in the UK/EU access can be obtained by completing a Subject Access Request (SARS) and in order for us to undertake this we will have to verify your identity. Completed SARS should be submitted in writing to our Harrogate office/saleroom at 6 Albert Street, Harrogate, HG1 1JL. We will respond to SARS requests within one month.
Your consent and changes to this policy
By submitting any personal information to us you consent to the use of information as set out in this privacy policy. We reserve the right to amend or modify this privacy policy and if we do so we will post the changes on our website. It is your responsibility to check this privacy policy every time you submit information to us. Your use will signify that you agree to any such changes. You have a right to request withdrawal of consent at any time.
Your right to be forgotten and withdrawal of consent
