Three 19th century fans, the first a Jenny Lind or Palmette example, the leaf panels mounted on carved, pierced and gilded wood, the cream panels with a moiré effect, and applied with gold dots, height approx. 25.5 cm; together with a fan with similar monture, the cream silk leaf embroidered with gold spangles, guard approx. 24 cm, fitted with a decorative loop and cream cord; and a bone fan with intricately carved monture, having a purple silk leaf applied with brussels bobbin lace and a further bobbin lace edging, cream silk backing and being fitted with a purple silk tassel, guard approx26.5 cm (3)
The first fan has very slight rubbing to the gilding and a small foxing mark on the first panel. The second fan has extensive foxing, one stick has damage at the head, leaving it loose, and the backing silk is splitting. The third fan is clean but has damage to one gorge stick.
