C 1840’s, Chinese mother of pearl and tortoiseshell: a Chinese mother of pearl brisé fan, the wedge sticks etched entirely with figures and buildings, with 2 guards and 10 inner sticks (please see condition report), guards approx. 17.5 cm; together with a Chinese carved tortoiseshell brisé fan, with central oval left blank for initials, one heavily carved guard stick and 16 carved inner sticks, the tips rounded; another part carved tortoiseshell fan, with central blank shield, 18 inner sticks, no guards; another similar with 19 inner sticks and no guards; and various sticks and parts of sticks retained for repairs ( 4 plus parts) (Shipping category D)
