Rail travel: a classic advertising fan for the French Chemins de Fer de L’Etat, with routes around the north-East coast of France, showing the seaside destinations, published by Chambrelent , with the local advertisements for the areas en route, but more interestingly, the Chambrelent company is itself advertising, “Eventails en tous genres, Spéciaux pour publicité, Maison vendant le Meilleur marché, CHAMBRELENT, Imprimeur Eventailliste, 11 Rue de l’Hopital St Louis, Paris 10, overall height approx. 25 cm; together with a fan advertising Biarritz, the sea front and casinos, a young lady showing the blazon for the town, favoured by Queen Victoria, the verso with a colourful depiction of the beach at Trouville, further up the West coast, both sides marked Deloche, and the Papeterie Universelle in Lyon and Génève, guard approx. 24 cm (Shipping category C)

More Information

The first fan is in fair condition, with a clumsy repair to the sticks by the rivet, and some top and lower splits to the leaf folds. The Biarritz fan has wear to the folds and lacks the bottom section of the upper guard.
