A PAIR OF VICTORIAN SILVER GILT BOXES, London 1883, maker Rosenthal, Jacob & Co, of oval outline, the lid repousse decorated with a formal design of leaf curls and buds centred with a cartouche engraved with a monogram, the sides with punchwork borders, 11cm x 7cm x 3cm high, total approximate weight 5oz
Patinated gilt finish mostly intact with only a little wear on the high spots. Both boxes are possibly a little dented on top, but it is difficult to tell with the heavy chasing. Both oval cartouches are initialled possibly JGKL. Both boxes have marks from previous labels. Overall good condition.
