Antique lace: a quantity of 18th and 19th century needle and bobbin lace, featuring a Youghal needle lace lappet, the narrow strip to the centre backed with cream net, approx. 88 cm by 7 cm at the widest; a small fragment of exceptionally fine needle lace, possibly 17th century, with later header, approx. 34 cm by 3cm; a good length of fine Point de Venise, approx. 32 cm by10 cm; together with approx. 438 by 10 cm of tape lace with good fillings; a deeper length of tape lace, formed with 3 joined panels, the ends turned as if used for a scarf, approx. 86 cm by 22 cm; another fragment of needle lace, the design incorporating flowers; a 19th century pointed needle lace collar with added bobble fringing; a length of bobbin edging; two extremely fine fragments with finished ends, possibly Devon/Honiton, each approx. 39 cm by 5cm; a hairpin work mat; a length of bobbin edging; and 3 panels of Milanese lace, one shaped, two rectangular (13) (Shipping category D)
The point de Venise has some slight damage, perhaps 7 breaks to the edge and one where brides have broken, otherwise in good condition for age. Several dark spots on the tape lace, but firm.
