ARR Laurence Stephen Lowry RBA RA (1887-1976), an early handwritten postcard sent to his mother dated Sunday July 12th 1937, from the Pentland Hotel, Thurso and inscribed 'My Dear Mother, One of two views of round about Wick - 20miles from here I bussed it there yesterday afternoon - it is a terrible railway going from Inverness to here - but worth it. Do hope you aren't feeling too quiet without me. Weather on the showery side, but much better than too hot. Laurie', written on a Valentine's postcard and framed together with a copy of a Wick postcard, a copy of Lowry's 'The Steps Wick' and inscription, in six windows, the mount overall 46cm x 49.5cm, the postcard approximately 9cm x 14cm (Shipping category F)
